The New York Giants' wide receiver made his first appearance at Heinz Field since playing for the Steelers in the AFC championship game in January 2005, before he signed with New York as a free agent.

He did not play the first quarter of the Giants' 21-14 victory Sunday after being disciplined by coach Tom Coughlin for missing a therapy treatment session for a sore neck and shoulder Saturday.

"I practiced on Friday and I felt fine and got treatment Friday at the stadium," Burress said. "After I practiced, I thought I was in the clear. I felt good, but I guess I was supposed to come up here and get treatment."

Burress, who finished the game with three catches for 15 yards, was suspended for a game for missing a team meeting. Last week, he was fined $45,000 by the NFL for incidents during a game against 49ers.

"I'm disappointed in that," Coughlin said of Burress missing treatment. "You've got to be a member of the team. You've got to follow the regulations and rules of the team."

Burress spent five seasons in Pittsburgh after being the Steelers' first-round pick in 2000.

"I got to see some of the guys that I haven't seen in a while," he said. "I got to go out with some of those guys yesterday and sit down and talk to them and go out to eat. We were catching up on old times."
