GRADING THE GIANTS
OFFENSE

A Did anyone notice that Eli Manning didn't reach 200 passing yards for the fifth straight game? Didn't think so. Forget Earth, Wind and Fire, the Giants could have KC and the Sunshine Band playing behind that offensive line and lead the NFL in rushing. They embarrassed the Ravens with 207 rushing yards - the most yielded by Baltimore in over a decade - and came close to having the first 100-yard individual rusher against the Ravens. The only blemishes were an interception by Manning and the inability to punch it in after Ahmad Bradshaw's 77-yard run.

DEFENSE

B+ Turned out the Giants are the team that can stop the run . . . except when the quarterback gets out of the pocket. Joe Flacco had 57 of the Ravens' 121 rushing yards. The secondary was pretty good with Aaron Ross' two picks and Corey Webster not showing any lingering effects from his groin injury, but there were a few missed assignments on the one TD drive.

SPECIAL TEAMS

C Fred Robbins blocked a field-goal attempt by the Ravens in the first quarter and the Giants botched the extra-point attempt on a bad snap from Jay Alford on the ensuing touchdown, so that's a wash. Lawrence Tynes was active for the second game in a row, the first time by himself. He handled all of the kicking duties, not just kickoffs, and converted his only field-goal attempt. He had a kickoff catch the wind and blow out of bounds, but going into the gusts in the fourth quarter he put it a yard into the end zone.

COACHING

A Tom Coughlin was so confident in his challenge of the Samari Rolle interception that he dangled the red flag and dropped it on the field rather than throw it. The play was overturned and Coughlin is 4-1 in challenges this season. Offensively, the Giants were able to change gears when the winds started howling and go with a running game. There wasn't a lot of razzle-dazzle from the defense. Instead, they took away Joe Flacco's other weapons and forced him to try and win the game himself.
