The former New York Giants star has signed with FOX Sports as an NFL studio analyst in a move announced in a press conference Tuesday.

Strahan joins host Curt Menefee along with analysts Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long and Jimmy Johnson on the award-winning FOX NFL Sunday pregame show.

"I'm happy and fortunate to be able to step away from the football field as a world champion and join the world champions of broadcasting," said Strahan.

Strahan, the NFL's all-time single-season sack leader and recently retired captain of the reigning Super Bowl champion New York Giants, becomes the fifth studio member of FOX NFL Sunday and The OT. FOX NFL Sunday, America's No. 1 NFL pregame show, which also features NFL Insider Jay Glazer, comedic impersonator Frank Caliendo, weather reporter Jillian Reynolds and Barry Switzer, is one of television's all-time great dynasties, dominating its timeslot for 14 straight seasons.

"FOX Sports has become synonymous with major sports broadcasts, called by the best announcers on television," said Hill. "We realized long ago that once Michael retired he'd fit in perfectly with the personalities on FOX NFL Sunday and The OT, and we're very fortunate to have him join us. He's one of the most dynamic personalities to ever come out of the NFL and my only regret is that the season doesn't start this Sunday."

"I enjoy FOX's fun approach to sports and experienced it firsthand when I appeared on FOX NFL SUNDAY during my playing days," said Strahan. "The camaraderie between Terry, Howie, Jimmy and Curt is obvious. They have as much fun together off the set as they do on air talking football, so I knew this would be the perfect place for me."

Strahan retired earlier this month after a 15-year career with the Giants that saw him set franchise records in career sacks (141½) and games played (216). His final game came in Super Bowl XLII, in which he had three tackles and a sack during the Giants' stunning 17-14 upset of the then-undefeated Patriots.
