--One of the newest Giants, DT/DE Chris Canty, on the locker-room atmosphere in Dallas, chuckled. "The Giants locker room is great, everybody is for each other, it's a team spirit. It's like that in Dallas, too, up to a point." When asked if he was referring to the recently released WR Terrell Owens, he added: "No comment."
--The Giants have no plans, at least no announced plans, of switching to a 3-4 front defensively. But if they did, Canty was an end for the Cowboys and says while he would rather play inside on a 4-3, he is familiar with the other formation.
--Rumors of acquiring WR Braylon Edwards from the Cleveland Browns were met with "no comment" from all concerned, but some of the Giants, privately, thought that it might be a good idea. The sticking point would be the price, of course, since either a No. 1 pick or DE Mathias Kiwanuka have been mentioned as options.
--One of the front office types said that any trade involving Edwards "would not" involve personnel, merely draft choices. So Kiwi is staying put, and the Giants, interestingly, have not ruled out any interest in the wide receiver who murdered them last season.
--Brendan Ard, son of former Giants guard Billy Ard (and a member of the team's All-Century lineup), competed for a second straight N.J. wrestling championship at the state finals in Atlanta City. He wrestles in the 171-pound class, roughly 100 pounds less than his dad's playing weight.
