--The Giants' NFC championship victory over the 49ers following the 1990 season took 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo completely by surprise. He had already rented an entire floor of the "team hotel" in Tampa for the office work, paid to have office furniture moved in and telephone lines installed. --Until a 24-6 victory by the Giants in 2006, the 49ers had won six straight meetings including a divisional playoff game and a first round playoff game.
--Only Brandon Jacobs and Derrick Ward carried the ball for the Giants Monday night, except for a 13-yard scramble by Manning, and the Giants put together 181 rushing yards to the 144 gained by the Browns, averaging 7.2 yards, their highest since Dec. 30, 2006, when they averaged 7.68 vs. Washington.
--According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Giants had NEVER played a game without at least one punt or a turnover (their own) in the same game since turnovers were first tracked in the mid-1930s.
--Through five games the Giants have 15 sacks, which is an average of three per game, despite the fact that they didn't get one Monday night.
